🐄 You’re Not Too Much — You’re Just Not for Everyone
I’ve spent a fair bit of my life trying to fit into spaces that weren’t made for me.
Trying to soften my edges so I wouldn’t take up “too much room.”
Trying to explain myself so people would feel comfortable.
Trying to shrink the bits of me that felt loud, messy, or a bit over the top.
And yet… no matter what I did, there were still moments when I was “too much.”
It’s a funny thing to realise: sometimes, being yourself isn’t the problem. The problem is the people who weren’t ready for all of you.
Being “Too Much” Isn’t Your Fault
I remember being in my early twenties, trying to blend into a creative scene. I had ideas, opinions, and energy that just wouldn’t sit quietly.
Some people loved it. Others… well, they recoiled a bit.
And I slowly learned: it wasn’t that I was “too much.”
It was that they weren’t ready for all of me — my voice, my humour, my energy, my art.
That lesson sticks with me every time I sit down to create for Nasty Cow.
Your Energy Belongs to You
Softness, boldness, humour, anger, sweetness — it’s all yours.
When I’m designing, I pour this into every sketch, every t-shirt, every illustration. The Doll Parts Trio, the tees, the prints — they aren’t for everyone. They’re for people who get it: women who embrace their soft bits and their edges, unapologetically.
If someone finds it “too much,” that’s on them — not on you.
The People Who Leave Weren’t Meant to Stick Around
It’s tempting to tone it down when someone steps back. To shrink yourself to fit their comfort zone.
But every time I’ve tried that, I’ve felt smaller, dimmer, a bit invisible.
Now I know: if people leave because you’re “too much,” it’s not rejection. It’s freedom. It makes space for people who actually appreciate the whole of you — loud, messy, tender, and brilliant all at once.
That’s what Nasty Cow is about: celebrating the unapologetic, messy, self-owned you.
Being Too Much Is Actually a Gift
Your energy — your voice, humour, vision, art — is powerful.
It’s not meant to fit neatly into everyone’s comfort zones.
It’s meant to reach the people who need it most.
When I’m drawing, I’m reminding myself of this.
When I’m designing clothes, I’m saying: “It’s fine. You belong here. You’re enough as you are.”
That’s the heartbeat of Nasty Cow.
Show Up Fully — Even if They Don’t Like It
Being too much doesn’t mean you’re wrong.
Being bold, loud, sensitive, soft, expressive — none of it’s a flaw.
It just means you’re showing up properly.
It just means you’re not for everyone.
And that’s absolutely fine.
You belong to yourself first. And in that space, there’s freedom, power, and creativity.
So wear your energy, your art, and your voice proudly — unapologetically.
Be the Nasty Cow who refuses to shrink. 🐄✨
